2. Celtics clinch the first round sweep of Indiana

There were a lot of questions surrounding the Celtics entering the 2018-19 campaign, mainly concerning how well the group would mesh with Irving and Hayward back in the lineup. Boston’s first round playoff sweep of the Pacers gave some promise that after a relatively under-performing season, the squad was finally starting to jell.

Even in the face of rumors about his departure from the team, Kyrie had a strong series and led the team most of the way. Although they may have been the favorite against a Pacers team missing Victor Oladipo, Indiana certainly didn’t go down easy.

The Celtics’ sweep was only the second sweep throughout all of the playoffs this year, alongside Milwaukee’s first round sweep of the Detroit Pistons.

“They’re a deep team,” Pacers head coach Nate McMillan told reporters after the Game 4 loss. “They showed tonight that Irving is not the only player on that roster.”
