The Phoenix Suns missed out on their chance at Zion Williamson, falling to No. 6 in the 2019 NBA Draft. If they keep the pick, here are five prospects to consider.

After responding to one late-night “U up?” text last summer that was 50 years-in-the-making, Lady Luck quickly turned her back again on the Phoenix Suns in the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery. Despite being tied for 14 percent odds at the No. 1 pick, the Suns fell three spots from their lottery projection to No. 6 in the draft on June 20.

With their chances of snagging a generational talent like Zion Williamson or a high-upside point guard like Ja Morant flying out the window, the Suns’ top priority should be trading the pick for an established floor general. Even a choice like Morant would’ve required such an addition in free agency, since Phoenix needs to show improvement in 2019-20 and rookie point guards typically struggle.

However, if a trade for someone like Mike Conley, Jrue Holiday or Lonzo Ball never materializes (avenues we’ll be covering very soon) and the Suns actually use their sixth overall selection, what should they do with it?

Though the prospects’ stock will rise and fall over the next month thanks to the draft combine and team workouts, here’s an early look at five options the Phoenix Suns should consider if they keep the sixth pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
