7. Ben Simmons baptizes Nemanja Bjelica with the left

Karma is a comical thing more often than not. For Nemanja Bjelica, it was misplaced from his side when the Sixers played the Sacramento Kings in early February.

Bjelica once could’ve filled the vacant stretch-4 role left by Ersan Ilyasova during the 2017-18 free agency period. He was a viable candidate to place alongside Joel Embiid in the frontcourt.

A 6’10” shooter and rebounder that can space the floor and move decently well around the basket would’ve fit the bill. In other words, Brett Brown and the rest of the organization wanted him to be an Ilyasova doppelganger. But the feeling ultimately wasn’t mutual.

So Brown sent his regards through the form of his own 6’10” point guard:

The Kings walked away with the fluky W, but thanks to Ben Simmons, justice was rightfully served. After Bjelica snubbed the organization last offseason, the Sixers can finally let bygones be bygones.
