2. Let it fly

“But wait, Giannis is unstoppable in the paint, why should he settle for jump shots?”

Basketball is a game of runs, and with how well the Milwaukee Bucks have been shooting thus far into the NBA playoffs, they have no reason to stop.

Far too often we see great regular season NBA teams (See: 2015-18 Toronto Raptors) stray away from a working formula in order to provide different looks to their opponents on a game-to-game basis. Not only does this throw off the chemistry built over the past 82 games, but it also moves players out of their comfort zone.

After being one of the lowest 3-point attempting teams in the league, the Milwaukee Bucks went through a total offensive overhaul in order to make the long ball the key component of their offense.

So why stop now?

Just because the Celtics and the Detroit Pistons lacked the perimeter defense that Toronto has shouldn’t deter the No. 1 seed to stop shooting from deep. As a matter of fact, they should shoot more.

With a team as transition-happy as Toronto paired with having a human deer on the perimeter like Pascal Siakam, more shots from 3-point range will help limit the transition opportunities from outlet passer extraordinaire Kyle Lowry to his running mates.

Not only will this help Milwaukee’s transition defense, but it will continue to open up more opportunities in the paint for Giannis and company.
