After a season of completely pessimistic reactions from the fans, there may be some reason why New York Knicks fans should be optimistic moving forward.

Being such a disappointing team after setting the bar so low can tell you a lot about the 2018-19 New York Knicks. Even though playoff-level basketball was not a realistic goal to begin with, the team was simply dreadful in all aspects of the game.

For starters, the team’s star, Kristaps Porzingis, wasn’t able to return on the court after tearing his ACL. This led to a rise in frustration on both sides, which ended with him requesting a trade away from New York, as the Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks quickly agreed upon deal.

If that wasn’t enough, the certain-to-impress young guys, Frank Ntilikina and Kevin Knox, were awfully inconsistent throughout the entire season. On the plus side, though, we did witness the surprising emergence of two rookies, as both Mitchell Robinson and Allonzo Trier managed to exceed expectations.
