6. Domantas Sabonis ties his career-high against Knicks with perfect night

In what was essentially the beginning of an outstanding season from the 23-year-old forward, Domantas Sabonis put on an absolute show against the New York Knicks on Halloween, dropping 30 points on a perfect 12-of-12 shooting from the field.

Sabonis also made his presence felt on the boards, grabbing nine rebounds, with three of them coming on the offensive end. He took advantage of the Kristaps Porzingis-less Knicks on the pick-and-roll and the low block, and his performance that night was the fuel for his Sixth Man of the Year campaign.

Sabonis’ play anchored the Pacers’ success throughout the year, and there were more performances where that came from. His second-highest scoring output of the season came, almost poetically, against his former team in the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he dropped 26 in a two-point victory.

This season showed that he’s a force to be reckoned with and a key part of the Pacers’ bench — and future — that could find himself in a starting position very soon.
