9. Doug McDermott’s season-highs (and his baseline dunks)

Doug McDermott‘s role on this 2018-19 Pacers team was a relatively tame one, but he did have some shining moments this season that are worth recognizing. He’s still one of the top scorers in all of NCAA history, and can light it up from time to time.

On back-to-back nights early in the season, McDermott hit his season high (21 points) in scoring and started to make the Pacers’ front office look smart for signing him.

The first of those two performances was in a 33-point blowout against the Utah Jazz. It also began a trend of him cashing in on easy backdoor cuts for dunks.

While he didn’t see a ton of minutes for Indiana, the 6’8″ swingman proved more than capable of rising up and throwing down a thunderous dunk to help swing the momentum of the game. It tended to happen on the baseline — a lot.

These are just a few of his backdoor cuts for easy slams, but he’s starting to make it a signature part of his game and the Pacers certainly shouldn’t mind it.
