Best case scenario: Cavs draft 1st

There is no doubt in anyone’s mind who is going to be drafted first overall in the 2019 NBA Draft. Zion Williamson is one of the most hyped athletes in college history and is destined for NBA greatness. The Cleveland Cavaliers will be in full celebration mode if they lockdown a chance to draft this guy.

He first made noise when videos of him throwing down ridiculous dunks in high school went viral. Zion quickly rose to fame as the second-ranked high school player in the country and found his way to Duke University.

At Duke, Williamson put up 22.6 points and 8.9 rebounds a game as a Freshman. He won multiple awards as he continued to elevate his status as an elite player. His sheer strength and athleticism are enough to make him a top pick, but his talents as a passer and finisher have made him the most anticipated NBA player since LeBron James.

Drafting Zion would thrust the Cavaliers forward in their rebuilding process. Baring any injuries, Zion is a superstar in the making and could completely change this team’s future trajectory. Landing the number one pick and drafting Williamson is the best possible scenario for the Cavaliers.
