The NBA Draft lottery will take place on May 14 and the results from this lottery will have a huge impact on the future of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

We are less than two weeks away from the 2019 NBA Draft lottery on May 14. In this test of luck, the Cleveland Cavaliers will discover what position they will be choosing from in the upcoming 2019 draft. It goes without saying that this could sway the franchise in one direction or the other.

This lottery will be pivotal in deciding the future of the Cavaliers. Picking first in this year’s draft could bring a transformative talent to the franchise, speeding up the rebuild enormously. In contrast, falling deeper into the pool might set the Cavaliers back another year or two in the process.

By going 19-63 in the regular season, the Cavaliers secured the best odds to land the number one pick in a three-way tie with the New York Knicks and Phoneix Suns. All three teams have a 14.0 percent chance at landing the top spot. While these teams may all have the best chance to draft first overall, they also have an 86.0 percent chance of drafting farther back in the order.

Because of this, there are three different scenarios that could occur for Cleveland. We will break down each potential reality from the worst to best outcome.
