1. Kings’ 2017 picks paying off

The Kings took De’Aaron Fox, Harry Giles III, Justin Jackson and Frank Mason III in the 2017 NBA Draft. Jackson was traded earlier this year and the jury is still out on Mason, who spent a large part of the past season on the bench.

However, Fox and Giles have answered the questions that surrounded them.

Fox took a dramatic leap in his second year, going from a rookie with questionable decision-making to a bonafide floor general. The second-year guard also fixed his jump shot and thrived in the Kings’ up-tempo style.

He finished his sophomore year averaging 17.3 points and 7.3 assists per game while shooting 37.1 percent from the 3-point line.

The other 2017 draft pick, Harry Giles, had even more serious questions surrounding him after missing his entire rookie year to rehab a knee injury. Giles stayed healthy for most of the season and showed why the Kings have so much faith in his potential.

Like most young players, Giles had his ups and downs. He struggled against bigger players earlier in the year, but showed that he was continually getting stronger and improving his skills. The big man especially proved his passing ability, showing Kings fans the kind of skills they haven’t since the days of Chris Webber and Vlade Divac.
