The Denver Nuggets were taken down on the road against the San Antonio Spurs, and we are now moving to a Game 7 to decide their first round matchup.

The Denver Nuggets had the opportunity to close out their first round series against the San Antonio Spurs on the road in Game 6 Thursday night. They weren’t able to do that, and it’s going to come down to a Game 7 at home on Saturday night to seal the deal. Their offense wasn’t bad, but the Spurs’ was so much better. Nikola Jokic went for 43 points on 19-of-30 shooting with 12 rebounds and nine assists, but he didn’t get enough help from the rest of his team.

After a quiet Game 5, DeMar DeRozan was on fire in Game 6. He finished 12-of-16 for 25 points, with seven rebounds and seven assists. Not far behind him was power forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds on 10-of-18 shooting on the night. The Spurs had an advantage on the offensive end, and they rode it to a lead and a win when it was all said and done.

After a great season where they went got the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, it would seem like a massive disappointment if they were upset in the first round. With their season on the line, they’ll have to pay attention to what’s been working, and they will have to execute perfectly. Otherwise, they could likely be heading home for the summer.
