3. Paul George’s 47 points against the Nets

The Thunder knew that they would need more from Paul George in order for the team to do well this season. They had lost Carmelo Anthony‘s deadweight, but the only stars on the team were now George and Westbrook.

PG-13 answered the call early in the season against the Brooklyn Nets, when he exploded for 25 fourth quarter points to finish the game with 47 points and 15 rebounds on 15-of-27 shooting.

The Thunder were down by 23 when George decided it was time for him to get hot and lead them back to victory.

According to Brian Mahoney of AP, George said, ”Yeah, it felt good. I had the hot hand, I knew I had the hot hand. I just felt good all game.”

George had the game-winning 3 as well, finishing one point shy of his career high. Westbrook added a 21-point, 17-assist, 15-rebound triple-double in the come-from-behind victory.
