Oklahoma City Thunder: Top 10 moments of the 2018-19 NBA season
1. Russell Westbrook records a 20-20-20 stat line
Before Russell Westbrook was able to do it on April 2, Wilt Chamberlain was the only one that ever recorded a 20-20-20 stat line. Westbrook joined that extremely exclusive club when he was able to do it against the Los Angeles Lakers.
When Chamberlain recorded his back in 1968, he got 22 points, 25 rebounds and 21 assists. Westbrook was able to get 20 points, 20 rebounds and 21 assists. He dedicated the game to the late rapper, Nipsey Hussle.
According to Jace Evans of USA TODAY, Westbrook said:
"“That was for my bro, man, that’s for Nipsey, man. Twenty plus twenty plus twenty, they know what that means. That’s for my bro. Rest in peace, Nipsey,” Westbrook said."
For the Thunder, it was a good ending to a regular season that ended in relatively disappointing fashion. The team did not have the success that they would have hoped in the second half of the year, but Westbrook gave the fans a treat they could enjoy for years to come with such a historic performance.
