4. Pistons best Minnesota Timberwolves in an overtime slugfest

Now we’re getting to the good stuff. It took longer than regulation, but Detroit was able to stave off the Minnesota Timberwolves in mid-December despite the best efforts of Derrick Rose.

Rose put up 33 points with seven assists, but he couldn’t outduel Griffin and the Pistons in their 129-123 overtime win. The Flyin’ Lion had 34 points on an efficient 13-of-22 shooting from the field, including a 5-of-10 mark from 3-point range.

There was also another player that had a great game in Reggie Bullock, now of the Los Angeles Lakers. He had 33 points, including 7-of-12 shooting from 3. Bullock was tearing the Wolves up from outside.

Perhaps the biggest play of the game, though, was Andre Drummond’s put-back at the buzzer to send it to overtime. If he hadn’t been there to corral the miss, it would’ve been game over. When games were tight, this Pistons team never quit. That’s what you love to see.
