The Detroit Pistons were swept out of the 2019 NBA Playoffs by the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in a Game 4 that saw them hang tight for awhile before fading.

The Detroit Pistons‘ 2018-19 season came to an end at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks Monday night after a 127-104 loss on their home floor in Game 4.

Blake Griffin, though severely hampered by his injured knee, gutted it out till he eventually fouled out during the fourth quarter. He shot 8-of-15 for 22 points, which included 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range. He did everything he could, the power of the Bucks was just too much for he and the Pistons.

Giannis Antetokounmpo steadily worked his way up to 41 points despite playing just 32 minutes, and he did his best James Harden impression with a 15-of-20 mark from the free throw line. Eric Bledsoe continued his strong play with a 7-of-12 mark from the field to finish with 16 points, and he also added two steals on the defensive end.

Luke Kennard had a decent game for the Pistons, but he only went 1-of-3 from 3-point range. In the end, the team needed more out of its role players. Game 4 served as Detroit’s 14th straight playoff loss, which is now the longest streak in NBA history.

The Pistons’ season is over, and they will be licking their wounds as they go into the offseason to get healthy and prepare for next year. They were able to keep this game close for much of the way, but the Bucks were finally able to take the lead late in the third quarter. The Pistons showed some fight that can be built upon next season, but they’ll have to learn from this series first.
