The Utah Jazz fell to the Houston Rockets in Game 3 of the Western Conference quarterfinals on Saturday night. Here are three takeaways from the devastating loss.

Saturday night’s Game 3 between the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets felt like a must-win game for Utah if it wanted to have a chance in battling back in its Western Conference quarterfinals matchup.

The Jazz came into the third game of the series down 2-0 to an impressive-looking Rockets squad, trying to avoid falling behind by that dreaded mark of 3-0 in the opening round of the 2019 NBA Playoffs.

As Game 3 began, Utah looked much better than it had in the first two losses of the series, part of which could’ve been due to playing in front of its home crowd for the first time since the regular season.

The Jazz, however, weren’t able to secure their first game of the series, ultimately falling to the Rockets 104-101 on Saturday night in Salt Lake City.

Utah led for a majority of the first half and held a lead going into the final quarter, but Houston was able to complete a late-game comeback that included a 30-25 fourth quarter advantage to steal the win on the road.

With the loss, the Jazz fall behind in the series 3-0 and look to shortly be on their way out of the postseason before it seemed like it even began. Game 4 between the two teams will take place back in Utah Monday night, but before then, let’s look back at three takeaways from Game 3 between Utah and Houston.
