1. Incredible inefficiency at the offensive end

All regular season long, the Clippers were one of the better offensive teams in the league, ranking fifth in points per game and ninth in offensive rating. Postseason basketball decreases those numbers, but on their home floor, maybe LA would receive a little boost to get them going.

To say LA struggled to produce points feels like an understatement. It was a team utterly thrashed by Golden State’s length and versatility, shooting just 37.2 percent from the field and 21.9 percent on 32 attempts from beyond the arc.

Lou Williams, the team’s leading scorer during the regular season, shot just 4-of-11 from the field with 16 points. Danilo Gallinari, who posted a career-high in points per game this season, failed to crack double digits on 2-of-13 shooting.

There is no simple fix for the Clippers woes at the offensive end. At a certain point, they just don’t possess the talent necessary to hang with such a dynamic Golden State squad, one whose defense at full blow is as terrifying a sight as there is in the league.

Whether it gets magically hot from distance or dominates the inside, LA has to do something to produce points more efficiently. Otherwise, things won’t get any easier in the games to follow with the Warriors smelling the second-round of the playoffs.
