1. Kevin Durant shows us who he is

A career 28.7 points per game scorer in the playoffs, Kevin Durant seemed off in the first two games of this first-round matchup. He scored 23 on 16 shots in the Game 1 victory and then subsequently followed it up with just 21 points on just eight field goal attempts along with nine turnovers in Game 2.

The rumors began to rise. Was KD’s impending free agency creating a sense of indifference within the reigning two-time Finals MVP? Was Patrick Beverley, a diminutive 6’1” pitbull of a point guard affecting Durant’s ability to put the ball in the basket?

In Game 3, Durant put all those silly notions to bed rather quickly. He came out firing in just eight minutes of first quarter action, scoring 12 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting show. The buckets didn’t stop, leading to a 38 point performance along with seven assists and four rebounds in just 29 minutes of play.

It was games like this that remind the general public just how good Kevin Durant is. A wiry seven-footer, he is arguably the greatest scorer of the century with ridiculous handles and an unguardable jumper.

Next. Golden State Warriors: DeMarcus Cousins injury really sucks. dark

KD’s own teammate, Draymond Green, described him best. “Not many people can stop Kevin if Kevin don’t wanna be stopped.” The quote brings up some other questions, sure, but there’s no denying Durant’s presence in the Bay Area is still the ultimate trump card, one that will likely make or break Golden State’s chances at another championship.
