Despite a rough finish to their season, the Dallas Mavericks and their fans still have much to take away from their 2018-19 campaign.

The Dallas Mavericks failed to qualify for the playoffs for the third consecutive season, finishing their 2018-19 campaign off with a record of just 33-49. Yet, the 82 game schedule couldn’t have been more jampacked.

Rookie sensation Luka Doncic lived up to his European hype and then some, with highlights galore and numbers that have him in place to win the Rookie of the Year award. Future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki called it a career after 21 magnificent seasons, bidding adieu to the only organization he’s ever known.

Dallas swung a mega-deal near the trade deadline that brought in All-Star Kristaps Porzingis. The shocking trade has now set the Mavericks up with two foundational pieces to build around in the next era of Mavs basketball, one that is sure to wreak havoc on the rest of the NBA for years to come.

Given how well they started off the season, the Mavericks heads into the offseason disappointed at their final win total. At the same time, Dallas is incredibly hopeful at the future of this proud organization, one whose foundation was laid down in 2018-19 at the same time as the finishing touches were put to the best the franchise has ever known.
