The Brooklyn Nets held close to the Philadelphia 76ers for a while in Game 3, but they weren’t able to hold it together all the way.

The Brooklyn Nets were able to keep their Game 3 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers close for a while, as they went into the 4th quarter down by just seven. In the final quarter though, the wheels finally fell off for them.

They were outscored 34-25, and the firepower of the 76ers was just too much for them. Ben Simmons seemed to take the comments made by Nets’ forward Jared Dudley personally as he finished with a monster game of 31 points, nine assists and three blocks.

Simmons wasn’t alone with a great performance in Game 3. With All-Star center Joel Embiid riding the pine, players were going to have to step up and fill that void. JJ Redick was aggressively seeking his shot with nine 3-point attempts — making five of them — in the game after having just nine attempts from 3-point range in the first two games combined. Tobias Harris had a huge game with 29 points, including a 6-of-6 mark from 3-point range to go along with 16 rebounds.

For the Nets, they got their biggest contribution off the bench from Caris LeVert. He had a huge second quarter to push them back into the game. His final stat line saw him finish 10-for-17 from the floor with three made 3-point shots for 26 points and he also was active on the glass with seven rebounds.

The Nets are now down 2-1 in the series, but they did some good things this game that they need to use going forward.
