Toronto Raptors: 3 takeaways from bounce-back Game 2 vs. Magic
1. Kyle Lowry is back!
The Toronto Raptors’ All-Star point guard bounced back from his doughnut outing in the first game of the series in a big way. He filled the stat sheet and was aggressive on defense, leading the way with two charges from this game. On the offensive end, he was cutting around screens to get good looks, driving into the lane and even put back an offensive rebound.
He may be the shortest player on the court, but he definitely doesn’t have the smallest heart or hustle. The donned nickname of being a “bulldog” on the court is because of his very expressive personality and tenaciousness on defense no matter who the opponent is.
Opposing bigs may think they have a mismatch when they get switched onto Lowry on the offensive end, but KLOE never backs down and is one of the better post-up guards in the association.
If the Raptors have any chance at making a splash this playoff run, Lowry needs to have more games like this one. His aggression on both ends of the floor elevates his teammates’ play. I’d also like to mention his demeanor, he has the most unique personality for a star.
Never change, Kyle. A true professional uses the negativity as fuel and comes back ready to play. Tuesday night, he and the Raptors did just that.
