2. Orlando’s offense comes back down to earth

The Magic struggled mightily to make shots at the offensive end, with just 82 points compared to 104 the previous game. They shot just 34.0 percent from the field and missed 25 of their 35 attempts from beyond the arc. The icing on the cake? They also converted only 13 of their 24 free throw attempts.

Over the course of the regular season, Orlando struggled to produce points, ranking 24th in per game scoring and 18th in field goal percentage. Vucevic was a terrific low-post presence, but this team lacked consistent production from its guards and wings.

It was for this reason the Magic’s Game 1 showing was so surprising. They shot 48.3 percent from deep and hit 18 of their 20 free throw attempts. Seven players managed to score in double-figures compared to just three on Tuesday night.

After such a disappointing showing in the Game 1 loss, Toronto certainly made a concerted effort this time around on the defensive end. The Raptors have the personnel to disrupt any type of offensive system, especially one as mediocre as Orlando’s.

The Magic can hope for the basketball gods to turn misses into makes. In reality, they’ll need a better game plan that can at least create open looks — something that wasn’t the case in this blowout loss.
