The Oklahoma City Thunder lost Game 2 in a rout against the Portland Trail Blazers. Now they come back home to play in Games 3 and 4.

The Oklahoma City Thunder lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 2 of the 2019 NBA Playoffs, 114-94. They are now down 2-0 in this best-of-seven series, and they haven’t been out of the first round in three years.

Game 2 was a physical game. Damian Lillard and Russell Westbrook got into it again late in the second quarter when Westbrook lost his dribble, fell to the ground and then they got into a shoving match.

The score was tied in the first half, but then the Blazers broke things open in the second half. Lillard and CJ McCollum took over the game as Rip City used a 37-point third quarter pull ahead and eventually get the Game 2 win.

Paul George looked fine as he dropped 27 points on 11-of-20 shooting. There were questions about his sore shoulder going into the game and they will continue as long as OKC’s struggles continue.

Westbrook almost had a triple-double again as he finished with 14 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds, but he shot a dismal 5-for-20 from the floor. The OKC Thunder will look to turn things around in the series with these next two games being at Chesapeake Arena, but before Game 3, here are a few key takeaways from the Game 2 rout.
