1. Dave Joerger

The best candidate that could potentially be running for this job is Dave Joerger.

Joerger has coached in the NBA since 2007 and has been a head coach for six years. He has plenty of experience coaching teams that are currently rebuilding as he has coached both the Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings.

In his most recent job in, Joerger was excellent at finding a way to get the most out of his players. The development of young stars such as D’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield is something that Joerger can be at the very least partially credited for.

Joerger knows what it takes to lead a young team and instill confidence in rising stars. The Cleveland Cavaliers already have a few promising prospects in Collin Sexton, Cedi Osman and whoever they select in this year’s upcoming Draft. Translating Joerger’s coaching style to this team shouldn’t be too difficult.

In his last season with the Kings, Joerger helped the team win a total of 39 games, which is more than the franchise has won in a single season since 2006. Joerger can clearly help grow a successful team and he should be pursued by the Cavaliers.
