The Cleveland Cavaliers and head coach, Larry Drew, have mutually agreed to part ways. Here are three candidates to fill the open position.
As the Cleveland Cavaliers work towards rebuilding their franchise, the front office has elected to move on from head coach Larry Drew and look for a new face to represent the team.
The Cavaliers aren’t strangers to finding new coaches. Since the 2010-11 season, Cleveland has had a total of seven different people fill the position. Of these coaches, Byron Scott was the only one to make it through a full three seasons.
Drew came in as the replacement coach for Tyronn Lue, who was fired after an 0-6 start to the season. Drew’s future with the team was uncertain from the moment he took the position and he has since mutually agreed to step away from the Cavaliers.
Now, in the midst of a serious rebuild, Cleveland will be looking to find a coach that can develop this young team. There are a number of great options available so let’s count down the top three candidates for the Cavaliers head coach position.
