9. DeAndre’ Bembry takes another steal to the house for a flashy jam

Can someone explain to me how Bembry wasn’t in this year’s Slam Dunk Contest? With all the lackluster attempts and droves of misses that sucked the enthusiasm out of the Spectrum Center, surely Bembry couldn’t have done any worse than his teammate Collins.

For now, we’ll have to settle for Bembry intercepting lazy passes, sprinting past the opposition, and bringing the crowd to their feet with this kind of breathtaking, double-clutch reverse slam. That would at least net him an eight in the dunk contest.

In the above clip, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Terrence Ferguson appears to be passing to forward Abdel Nader on the opposite wing, but Bembry anticipates the transfer, collects the careless toss and is off to the races before capping off his Richard Sherman impression with an easy two points. It was yet another fine play from an emerging defensive wing and the dunk impressed everyone in attendance, particularly Chris Tucker.
