25. Oklahoma City Thunder ignite unexpected 26-point comeback over Houston Rockets

Often in sports, the sweetest victories are the most unexpected ones. So when the Houston Rockets — who had won seven of their last 10 games and were completely turning their season around — jumped out to a 26-point lead against the Oklahoma City Thunder in early February, no one was prepared for the comeback that immediately followed.

The Rockets had problems protecting leads at various points this season, but in an epic showdown between James Harden and Paul George, the Thunder ultimately emerged victorious thanks to a high-powered third quarter that knotted the score back up.

Harden and the Rockets were on another level early, as the Beard finished with 42 points in his 29th straight 30-point game. Unfortunately, he was somehow outplayed by PG-13, who notched 45 points and 11 rebounds. Russell Westbrook added in a 21-12-11 triple-double, helping turn a 22-point halftime deficit into a tie ball game heading into the fourth.

OKC made up ground quickly, using a 42-20 advantage in the third period to even the score after just 12 minutes. It was an eye-opener for both teams, but as is often the case in sports, that’s the exact type of game that can be the most entertaining.
