30. Memphis Grizzlies comeback win over Brooklyn Nets in 2OT

It seems so long ago now, but at one point in the 2018-19 season, Mike Conley and Marc Gasol were busy proving to everyone how much better the Memphis Grizzlies are as long as they’re healthy. In an unlikely come-from-behind win against the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 30, they did exactly that.

However, despite trailing by seven points with just 33 seconds left in regulation, it was rookie Jaren Jackson Jr. who simply would not let them lose. He converted a 4-point play with 26.8 seconds left, and after a quick Nets turnover on the inbounds play, JJJ drilled another triple from 30 feet out to tie the game at 111.

Conley took over from there, blocking Spencer Dinwiddie‘s potential game-winner in regulation, hitting a floater with nine seconds left in the first overtime to tie the game at 117, and scoring 13 of Memphis’ 14 points in the second OT. D’Angelo Russell tried to match him in those final five minutes, with eight of his 26 points coming in the second OT, but it wasn’t enough.

Conley finished his night with 37 points and 10 rebounds, while Jackson scored a career-high 36 points to become the third-youngest player in NBA history with a 30-point game behind LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Conley and JJJ also became the first set of teammates in franchise history to score 35-plus in the same game.
