3. Dwyane Wade’s game-winner vs. the Warriors

Game-winners against the Golden State Warriors at home seem to have become commonplace for the Heat in recent seasons. Following Dion Waiters‘ 3-pointer on Jan. 23, 2017 to beat the Warriors, Dwyane Wade decided it was his time to shine in the clutch.

After Kevin Durant knocked down one of his two free throws, the Heat trailed 125-123 with 13 seconds remaining. Wade then advanced the ball, and after venturing into the lane, backed it out and proceeded to pass the ball on the wing to Dion Waiters. He was immediately double-teamed and passed back to Wade, who caught the ball at the top of the key outside the 3-point line with just 2.5 seconds remaining.

After initially pump-faking to avoid Durant, Wade then attempted to shoot, only to be blocked by Jordan Bell. Miraculously, Wade caught the ball on its way down from the block, and simply stepped back behind the 3-point ball to launch the attempt off his right leg. The result was a banked-in 3 and pandemonium inside AmericanAirlines Arena.

For the game, Wade finished with the impressive line of 25 points, seven rebounds and five 3-pointers in just 26 minutes off the bench. Following the game, he tried to make sense of what had just happened:

Considering the predicament the Heat were in as it pertains to a playoff push, every win was valuable, particularly against the defending champions. So while ultimately the win came in vain, the memories from this night will never vanish.
