Miami Heat: Top 10 moments of the 2018-19 NBA season

7. Incredible 4th quarter finish vs. Clippers
In the midst of their December six-game, West coast road trip, the Heat entered the final quarter of their battle with the Los Angeles Clippers leading 91-90. Coming off an emphatic win over the Phoenix Suns, the Heat were hoping to back this up against a Clippers team holding a 9-1 home record entering the game.
Despite their impressive showing through three quarters, few could have seen what would occur in the final period. In a stunning display, the Heat outscored the Clippers 30-8, running away with a 121-98 win. In addition to shooting 13-of-25 from the field, the Heat incredibly held the Clippers to a paltry 2-of-15 shooting while also forcing five turnovers.
With Hassan Whiteside away from the team due to the birth of his first child, Bam Adebayo was thrust into the starting lineup and thus entrusted with an increased responsibility. Come the fourth quarter, Adebayo didn’t disappoint, posting 10 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting in addition to grabbing six rebounds while playing the entire final term.
Possibly the most impressive aspect of their finish to the game was that it was done without the starting backcourt of Goran Dragic and Josh Richardson, in addition to Whiteside. Furthermore, guard Tyler Johnson was injured midway through the first quarter and was able to play the rest of the game.
Unfortunately, and true to form, the Clippers would return the favor later in the season, defeating the Heat 111-99 in one of the more disappointing performances of the season.
