9. Huge 34-point win over the Detroit Pistons

The last time the Heat experienced a victory margin this large was New Year’s Day 2012, the second season of the Big 3 era.

So naturally, their 34-point drubbing of the Detroit Pistons is certainly worth reflecting upon. Representing the lowest opposition score of the season, the 108-74 annihilation came in the midst of a terrific stretch of play, with the Heat ultimately posting an 11-4 record for the month of March.

Restricting the Pistons overall to a 35.1 percent shooting clip from the field, the most damage was achieved in the third quarter, where the Heat outscored the Pistons by an incredible 33-8 margin. Following the game, head coach Erik Spoelstra was naturally elated with the performance:

"“The collective unit really set the tone, flying around, you could feel the energy.”"

In addition to nabbing 10 steals, the Heat also came up with 22 deflections for the game, well up on their season average of 13.8 per game. On the offensive end, it was an even overall contribution for the Heat, with seven players scoring in double figures.

Leading the playing time for the night was emerging forward Derrick Jones Jr., who posted the all-around line of eight points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a team-high six deflections.

For the season, the Heat split their series with Detroit 2-2, with the Pistons ultimately advancing to the postseason for the first time since 2016.
