2. Dwyane Wade’s final career game

While it may not have been at home, or garnered the win, it’s hard to go past the final game in the legendary career of Dwyane Wade as the top moment of 2018-19.

Taking on a Brooklyn Nets team headed for the postseason for the first time since 2015, Wade started for the second time this season, and was joined by fellow Heat stalwart Udonis Haslem. The game itself was somewhat of a sideshow, with the Nets winning comfortably, 113-94.  It was who was in attendance that mattered.

Former Heat teammate LeBron James, along with Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony, joined in the celebration of the career of the 13-time All-Star. For the game, Wade struggled from the field, shooting just 10-of-28, but managed to record just the fifth triple-double of his career with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Fittingly, the assist to chalk up his triple double came via a pass to Haslem.

Ultimately, it was those in attendance, from Pat Riley, to Micky Arison, to former teammate Mike Miller, and his wife, Gabrielle Union, that made this occasion all the more momentous.

Following the game, Wade took to Instagram to capture one of his favorite moments of there evening.

While it was unfortunate it couldn’t end with a win, the manner in which Wade’s career and final ever game was celebrated was always going to be at the upper echelon for best moments of the season.
