5. Delon Wright‘s triple-double party

In a time of year where the rest of the league seems to be winding down, it looked like Delon Wright was just starting to heat up. In a recent home-and-home with the Dallas Mavericks, the guard from Utah put up back-to-back triple-doubles.

In the first game against the Mavs, Wright stuffed the stat sheet, putting up a team-high 26 points along with 14 assists and 10 rebounds. Wright was everywhere on the court, as he played a team-high 39 minutes as well.

The Grizzlies pulled out a huge win against their division foes, putting them closer to conveying their draft pick this summer — a goal of management and fans alike.

In the second game, Wright followed up his first-ever career triple-double with another. Summoning his inner Russell Westbrook, he put up 20 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. The feat, unfortunately, came in a losing, heartbreaking game where the Mavs had roughly 900 chances to send the game into OT on their last possession.

Fans and coaches alike hope that the former Toronto Raptor can carry this kind of momentum into next season, when he may become the full-time starting point guard due to Mike Conley’s future with the team still being uncertain.
