10. Tyson Chandler saves the game with a block

At the start of the 2018-19 season, it became abundantly clear that the Los Angeles Lakers needed someone to hold down the paint and protect the rim. JaVale McGee was an average shot-blocker, but he wasn’t capable of staying on the court long enough to be a sufficient solution to the problem.

This is why so many Laker fans were excited when the team signed Tyson Chandler. Chandler is a three-time All-Defensive Team member and won the Defensive Player of the Year Award in the 2011-12 season.

In just his third game with the team, Chandler was already showing that he still had some gas left in the tank. With the Lakers leading by one against the Atlanta Hawks with only a few seconds left, Trae Young drove down the lane. Luckily, Chandler was there to erase the shot at the buzzer and save the game for L.A.

Chandler finished the game with three blocks and was a key reason for the team’s win. This helped create a four-game winning streak for the Lakers and gave them some energy for a short burst of time. Sadly, Chandler didn’t continue to live up to his defensive standards, but this moment will always be a great one.
