7. Shorthanded Bulls register come-from-behind win over San Antonio Spurs

The Bulls entered this Dec. 15 contest against the San Antonio Spurs having lost five of their previous six outings. To make matters worse, LaVine was nursing an injured ankle and although Parker was in uniform, he never made his way onto the court.

Early on, this was a very one-sided affair, with the Spurs cruising to a comfortable 62-43 lead after the first 24 minutes of action. Considering Chicago was without two of its top three scorers, the second half seemed like a formality more so than anything else.

Surprisingly, the Bulls came out with a sense of urgency, outscoring the Spurs 31-16 in the third quarter. The trend continued in the final frame as Chicago limited San Antonio to just 15 points, giving them a 55-31 edge in the second half. This included an impressive 13-4 run to close out the game.

When all was said and done, the Bulls had turned a 21-point deficit into an unlikely 98-93 win.

"“It shows a lot of heart from the team to climb back,” Lauri Markkanen said, via ESPN. “Obviously, it takes a lot of energy to dig yourselves a hole and then we’ve got to climb back up, but it shows what we can do. If we play like that as a team, we have a chance to beat anybody.”"

Kris Dunn led Chicago’s scoring attack with 24 points on 11-of-19 shooting, including six points in the game’s final 40 seconds. Markkanen chipped in with 23 points to go along with seven rebounds, helping the Bulls snap the Spurs’ four-game win streak.
