4. The Atlanta Hawks’ future has arrived

2017 saw the Hawks draft their future big man in John Collins. In 2018, the organization was able to pair him with an electrifying point guard in Trae Young. March 9 proved that Travis Schlenk wasn’t crazy for pairing these two together.

There are some monumental moments all within one tweet right here. The near 30-20 game that Collins posted was massive, though he was shorted a rebound after the fact.

This was also the night for Trae Young’s first triple-double. Not only was it his first, it was the first triple-double by a rookie in franchise history.

The downside to the big moments is that the Hawks lost the game by just two points. But with Collins and Young, the Hawks not only have one of the youngest, bright tandems in the NBA, but they have a great foundation upon which they can build.
