2. The quadruple-overtime game that didn’t end

Moment No. 2 of the 2018-19 season is many moments wrapped up in a big moment. It was referenced earlier, but the quadruple-overtime thriller against the Bulls on March 1 might be “Game of the Year” material.

This matchup saw some crazy, acrobatic shots, including a deep 3-pointer from Trae Young in the clutch to put the Hawks ahead in a game that would eventually go to overtime. That was only the beginning though, as this next basket would give Young 45 points for the evening and send the game to a second overtime. He would finish with a career-high 49 points, 16 assists and eight rebounds on 17-of-33 shooting, including 6-for-13 from downtown.

The Hawks would eventually reach a fourth OT in this game, but lose 168-161. The score marked just the 15th 4OT game in NBA history, as well as the third-highest scoring game ever.

Young’s 49 points allowed him to become just one of four players with 40 points and 10 assists in a single game. He also become just the fourth rookie in NBA history with 35 or more points in three straight games.
