3. Bradley Beal scores 40 in back-to-back games

In John Wall’s extended absence this season, Bradley Beal found little to no issues in taking over a majority of the ball-handling duties. He was free to run the offense and shoot on a more frequent basis to the tune of 1.9 more shot attempts per game.

He was also given free rein as the team’s undisputed leader, and it led to the best numbers of his near seven-year career, with averages of 27.2 points, 6.0 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game in 47 contests without his backcourt buddy.

The increase in opportunities has also led to some special moments for the 2-guard, including a 40-point performance against the Hornets in mid-March, followed up by another 40-point outing the very next night on just 17 shots in a win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

He became the second player in franchise history to drop 40 on back-to-back nights and hit 16 combined 3-point looks in the two games as well. It was a historic albeit meaningless weekend, one that Beal used as another way to prove his individual greatness to anyone who happened to be paying attention.
