5. Bradley Beal’s first career triple-double

While the scoring and shooting aspects of his game rightfully garner the most attention, Beal has taken tremendous leaps during his time in the league at rounding out the rest of his offensive arsenal.

He’s increased his assists and rebounds in each of the last two seasons, where he now sits at a career-best 5.5 and 5.0 per game, respectively. In a late December game against the Phoenix Suns, his newfound skill-set was on full display in a triple-overtime thriller.

In what sounds like an exhausting 53 minutes on the night, Beal registered 40 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds in a three-point victory, marking the first triple-double of his career on an efficient 51.5 percent shooting from the field.

Had the game not required three extra sessions, Beal likely wouldn’t have recorded such a gaudy stat line, but his performance was impressive nonetheless. After being pegged as a simple spot-up shooter coming into the NBA, his development into something so much more should be respected and admired by all.
