Washington Wizards: Top 10 moments of the 2018-19 NBA season
It was a disappointing 2018-19 season for the Washington Wizards overall, but one that wasn’t without its share of amazing moments.
After four playoff appearances in five seasons, the 2018-19 campaign for the Washington Wizards has been one of utter dysfunction and chaos, with less than 35 wins on the year and the 11th-best record in the Eastern Conference.
Changes were commonplace in Washington throughout the course of the campaign. All-Star John Wall was lost for the remainder of the season right before the new year. He would then go on to tear his Achilles on accident, keeping him on the shelf until next February at the earliest.
The Wizards cleared out cap space in a big way, shipping off Otto Porter Jr., Markieff Morris and Kelley Oubre Jr. in three separate deals. Ownership also recently parted ways with long-time general manager Ernie Grunfeld, who held the position for 16 years, which means the Wizards are likely to begin a new era of basketball down in D.C.
This season has been one both the team and its fans would like to quickly forget for the constant chaos that reared its head almost every week, but no matter how bad the times may be, there are always bright spots that shine through. This was certainly the case for Washington, as this list of the top 10 moments from the 2018-19 NBA season will definitely show.
