7. Devin Booker’s game-winner finishes off comeback vs. Grizzlies

It’s easy to see why people on the outside view Devin Booker as an “empty stats” guy or a “big numbers on a bad team” type of player. But to do so would be to ignore all the late-game heroics he’s already displayed in his first four seasons in the league, especially on the nights when Phoenix is actually in a close contest late in the fourth quarter.

On Nov. 4, the Suns ultimately found themselves in such a game against the Memphis Grizzlies, even though they trailed by 12 points with 8:39 left on the clock. Booker only had 11 points heading into the final frame, but wound up scoring 14 of his 25 points — including the game-winner — in the decisive period.

After winning their home opener and then losing seven straight, Booker’s clutch fadeaway ended the skid and capped off a 12-point fourth quarter comeback.

Doubt Devin Booker if you must, but everything about this shot — the isolation call, the confident pull-up with plenty of separation from his defender, the nonchalant reaction because he’s been there before — indicated this 22-year-old is going to be a force once Phoenix puts some real talent around him.
