2. Trading Ivica Zubac

Speaking of poor moves from the Los Angeles Lakers’ front office, the decision to trade Ivica Zubac is one that had many fans scratching their heads.

The 21-year-old big man was playing in his third season for the Lakers. He had shown major improvements to his game, averaging 8.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game on 58.0 percent shooting from the field. Standing at seven feet tall, Zubac was one of the Lakers’ best big men.

For whatever reason, the Lakers elected to trade Zubac to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Mike Muscala. Many instantly felt like the Lakers sold way too low on Zubac. In fact, sources from ESPN state that Clippers executives laughed at the fact that the Lakers actually offered them the trade in the first place.

Zubac had been making big strides in his game. His shot-blocking skills were improving and he displayed a soft touch around the basket. Since joining the Clippers, Zubac has improved even more, averaging career-highs in points and rebounds.

It’s obvious that Zubac is on his way to becoming one of the league’s best young centers. It’s a shame that the Lakers traded away such a promising talent for next to nothing.
