The Denver Nuggets are heading into the 2019 NBA Playoffs hoping to compete for a possible title this year, but they may be in for some trouble.

The Denver Nuggets are likely going to finish the season in the top two in the Western Conference, and they are a legitimate contender to make some noise when the 2019 NBA Playoffs start.

However, for all of the reasons they are contenders, they have a few reasons why they aren’t. This team is ahead of schedule considering they didn’t even make the playoffs last season, and they are now likely going to finish as the 2-seed in a loaded Western Conference.

Head coach Michael Malone would likely be the Coach of the Year frontrunner if it weren’t for the elite coaching job that has been done by Mike Budenholzer with the Milwaukee Bucks. Malone has his young players playing above expectations, and they are playing as a team with some great minutes coming from their bench guys. This Nuggets team can be great as they’ve shown this year, but they are far from perfect.

Luckily for them, they get up to seven games to prove who the best team is, and they can focus on one team at a time on a nightly basis. However, if it takes them a number of games in each series to put teams away, they’re likely going to wear down by the time the playoffs reach the peak rounds. If this team is going to win a championship, it’ll have to take care of these causes for concern.
