2. Ja Morant — G (Murray State)

Ja Morant has taken the NCAA by storm with his explosive quickness and outstanding court vision. Playing in his second season for Murray State, Morant is one of the most uplifting stories we have seen in recent memory.

Last season, Morant was averaging just 12.7 points and 6.3 assists a game. He was completely off the radar for most scouts, until he burst onto the scene this year by doubling his scoring average and racking up 10.0 assists per game. Now, Morant is projected to be a top-three draft pick this summer.

Morant is an amazing athlete with breathtaking speed. His jumping and passing abilities have drawn comparisons to great NBA point guards such as Russell Westbrook and John Wall. He is a great finisher around the rim and he does not lack creativity when it comes to creating plays for himself and his teammates.

Like most young players, Morant has a lot of work to do before being a star in the NBA. He is shooting under 35 percent from the 3-point line, which is something that will need to improve.

However, he’s shown enough this year to prove that he is capable of improving. Because of the fact that Murray State isn’t a big-name college, this will be his one and only chance to play in front of a national crowd. Everyone will be watching as Ja Morant attempts to live up to the hype.
