The Chicago Bulls will miss the playoffs for the third time in four years. Here’s a look at the biggest storylines to watch for during the home stretch of the 2018-19 season.

The Chicago Bulls have dropped seven of their last eight contests and have produced just 19 wins through 71 games. Needless to say, this team will be on the outside looking in as far as the playoffs are concerned.

In the first year of the team’s rebuild, Chicago finished with a 27-55 record, the first time they failed to crack the 30-win mark in over a decade. On the heels of the painful 2017-18 campaign, the Bulls were hoping to take the next step in Year 2.

But thanks to injuries to several key players, Chicago got off to 5-19 start, prompting the front office to part ways with head coach Fred Hoiberg. Initially, things weren’t much better when Jim Boylen was promoted to the head coach’s seat.

The team still lacked the energy, effort and spirit that John Paxson alluded to when they fired Hoiberg. Fortunately, the situation has gotten somewhat better, with the new coach and the players getting on the same page.

While the Bulls don’t have much to play for down the stretch, there are a few storylines worth keeping a watchful eye on as the season winds down.
