2. A youth movement

Most of those who criticize the Heat say the same thing: They have no star presence.

These people are wrong.

While Miami may not currently house the likes of Kevin Durant or James Harden, they absolutely have guys who will without a doubt take the franchise far, and make a name for themselves in the process.

Despite the leadership of players like Goran Dragic and James Johnson, there’s a clear Heat youth movement in full effect. Between studs like Bam Adebayo, Derrick Jones Jr., Josh Richardson and Justise Winslow, the organization is very much in great hands.

These are exactly the guys who will keep fighting tooth and nail in order to clinch a 2019 playoff berth.

Now things won’t always be smooth sailing.

Richardson only posted eight points, two rebounds and three assists in 26 minutes on Sunday in a loss to the Toronto Raptors, shooting an ugly 3-for-10 from the field. Winslow too had a rough afternoon, totaling 10 points in 28 minutes, going a cringeworthy 4-for-13 from the floor.

But there’s always someone to pick up the slack. Adebayo finished with 19 points in 27 minutes on 8-of-11 shooting, alongside six rebounds and five assists.

And Jones Jr.? Well, he did this.

So it’s safe to say that the young fellas are going to stop at nothing to make sure their team finishes top eight in the East.
