Reuniting Kyrie Irving and LeBron James during 2019 NBA free agency would be a wise move for the Los Angeles Lakers if the opportunity arises this upcoming offseason.

Heading into the 2019 offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers have money to spend and a need for more talent. LeBron James may have it in him to drag them into the upcoming postseason, but there’s no way we can consider this team a contender right now.

Would signing Kyrie Irving during 2019 NBA free agency tip the scales?

Probably. It may not be enough to secure the franchise’s 17th championship in 2020, but it would certainly elevate the Lakers into the top echelon of Western Conference clubs.

While adding another banner to the rafters of Staples Center is the goal, Magic Johnson would likely settle for establishing the Lakers as a contender – at least for the time being.

Signing Irving would be a goliath step towards achieving contender status.

That begs the question of why exactly the Lakers should reunite LeBron with his former teammate. It’s easy to just assume adding another All-Star makes sense, but why not dive a little deeper than that?

As it turns out, that’s what we’re going to do today – pinpoint a few key reasons why signing Irving makes perfect sense for the Lakers.

Let’s jump right in and see if I can’t convince you to jump on the “Sign Kyrie” bandwagon.
