3 Reasons the Cleveland Cavaliers are playing better
By Tony Pesta
2. The rise of Collin Sexton
It would be a shame not to mention the elevated performances of the rookie, Collin Sexton. He has begun to silence all doubters with a recent stretch of great games that should be garnering more attention.
Since it was announced that Sexton would not be in 2019 NBA Rising Stars Game, he has averaged 18.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. During this nine-game run, Sexton has shot 40.1 percent from the field and connected on 2.0 3-point field goals a game while shooting 38.3 percent from deep.
Sexton has recorded five games of 20+ points during this stretch and racked up 5+ assists twice. He is displaying an ability to score efficiently and is finally setting up his teammates for easy buckets.
Because of Sexton, the Cavaliers have looked much stronger on the court and their future is looking brighter too. He is actually looking like one of the best rookies in last years draft class now and should be making all Cavalier fans proud.
The improvements that Sexton is showing are a gigantic reason behind why the Cavaliers are doing so good lately. It will be great to watch him develop further and help the team even more.
