3. Get offense to inch towards defensive dominance

One of the big keys or goals that the Jazz should have heading towards the postseason is getting their offensive production to inch closer towards the success they have had on the defensive end so far in 2018-19.

On the defensive side of the ball, Utah has been one of the top teams in all of the NBA this year, ranking fourth in defensive rating (105.4), fourth in opponents points per game (105.9), eighth in blocks (5.5) and tied for 11th in opponent field goal percentage (45.6 percent), according to NBA.com.

Offensively, the story hasn’t really been the same for the Jazz, who have been somewhat at the lower end of the middle of the pack when it comes to offensive stats and production.

The Jazz rank 16th in field goal percentage (46.1 percent), 19th in offensive rating (108.4), 20th in points per game (109.2) and tied for 22nd in 3-point percentage (34.6 percent).

In order to take that next step, especially if and when it reaches the playoff field, Utah needs to hone in on its production and improve its consistency on the offensive end of the floor.

Right now, the defense has been carrying the Jazz when the offense experiences some speed bumps along the way, but it’s time for them to work on playing consistently on both ends of the floor as the postseason nears.
