2. Continue developing chemistry with the new core

Despite the record, John Paxson and Gar Forman have put together a decent roster full of young talent. GarPax might be reviled in Chicago, but there is much to be excited for the future of the franchise. It still remains to be seen how high the ceiling is for any of their young studs, but a Markkanen-LaVine-Porter-Carter combo is a nice start.

Though Carter is out for the remainder of the season, Boylen’s task for the remainder of the season should be centered around developing chemistry among the remaining three players plus Kris Dunn.

Since Porter’s arrival in the Windy City, the former Washington Wizard has hit the ground running. In four games with the Bulls, in which the team is 2-2, Porter has lit up the box score, including scoring a career-high 37 points in a win against the Memphis Grizzlies. Porter is averaging 22.5 points on a blistering 62.1 percent from the field including 57.9 percent from 3-point land with Chicago.

The key now is developing the on-court chemistry between Porter, Markkanen, and LaVine. Dunn, due to injury and inconsistency, has been a disappointment this season but still has the opportunity to finish strong.

If the Bulls can stay healthy the remainder of the way, this young nucleus has an opportunity to build a nice on-court relationship.
